Welcome to Waterside Cottage, a former crofting house, situated on the shores of Broadford Bay in the centre of Skye. As well as your own private access to the shore, you’ll be within walking distance of the shops and restaurants of Skye’s second largest village, and well placed to explore the whole of the island and beyond.

Whether there are just two in your party or more, you’ll find the cottage a welcoming and cosy place to stay. Up to two pampered pooches are welcome by arrangement too.

Everything you need to make you feel at home

What a beautiful place – Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely home. We came here to celebrate our anniversary and are so glad that we did. It has given us some really special memories.

Waterside Cottage is a cosy and welcoming place to stay at any time of year. A mixture of contemporary and antique furnishings lend a sense of character and comfort, and with its central location you can choose to venture in any direction for your day’s adventure. There are some great walks from the door too.

A Vista of Mountains, Big Skies and Sea

Fabulous! – Our most favourite stop in Scotland- by far the best on our tour . We’d have loved to stay longer.

Beatrice, Germany

Watch the ever-changing landscape as a the tide comes in over the shore. If you’re lucky you may be able to see an otter hunting for fish or deer crossing the sands in the early morning and the bay is the best on the island for bird-watching. You can while away hours looking out for fossils on this tiny part of the UK’s Jurassic Coast, and if you’re brave enough, take a dip in the clear waters of the bay. You can launch a canoe or kayak from the garden at high tide and it won’t be long before you’ll be joined by a curious seal.

A Comfortable Retreat

A cosy cocoon – A lovely house to come back to. We stayed here with friends and loved exploring the shore when the tide was out. It’s in a great location to explore Skye and we would love to return.

About The Local Area

We have some spectacular sightings of the Northern Lights on Skye. The best months are usually November to March and your chance to see them will depend on the night skies being clear. So no guarantees, but it’s always good to keep your fingers crossed. Even without the Aurora the night skies can be a sight to behold.
