Our location and how to find us
Waterside Skye is in a great location, with easy access from the Skye bridge (7 miles away) and with lots to do nearby. Diagonally opposite is the family-friendly Hebridean Hotel (serving food, real ale and whisky!), and within an easy walk are the shops, cafes and restaurants of Broadford village. At low tide you can walk there along the beach hunting for cockles along the way..
Broadford itself is a lively village with a very well stocked Co-Op and petrol station, a bank, pharmacy, various art galleries, jewellery and craft shops, cafes and restaurants and 3 pubs.
The address for the Cabin and Cottage is : Waterside Cottage, Harrapool, Broadford, Isle of Skye IV49 9AQ.
How to find us
There are two ways to reach us: Over the Skye Bridge, driving through the 5 Sisters of Kintail, past the famous Cluanie Lodge and past one of Scotland’s most beautiful castles Eilean Donan or via Mallaig, taking the ferry to Armadale then driving up the Sleat peninsula – known as the garden of Skye. In summer you can also take the ferry from Glenelg to Kylerhea.
It’s difficult to choose, but our personal favourite is the ferry as there’s nothing like arriving on an island by boat and you have a good chance of seeing porpoises and sometimes a whale on your way over.
Via the Skye Bridge
Come across the Skye Bridge and head north to Portree, drive for seven miles – you’ll pass the big brown tourist sign for the Sleat Peninsula on your left and then you’ll see the sign for the hamlet of Harrapool. Drive past the 30 mile an hour sign and Waterside Cottage is the third house on the right hand side. If you go past the Hebridean Hotel you have gone too far!
The parking area for the Cabin and Cottage is behind the house as you approach from the bridge. There is sufficient space for 2 cars for the Cottage and 1 for the Cabin. There is also free on-road parking if required.
Via the ferry and from Armadale
When you come off the ferry take the direction towards Broadford. Travel 30 miles and when you get to a T- junction turn left towards Broadford Village. You’ll see the sign for the hamlet of Harrapool. Drive past the 30 mile an hour sign and Waterside Cottage is the third house on the right hand side. If you go past the Hebridean Hotel you have gone too far.
The parking area is behind the house as you approach from the bridge. There is sufficient space for 3 cars – 2 for the Cottage and 1 for the Cabin.
Via the ferry from Kylerhea
Head towards Broadford and when you reach the t-junction follow the directions above.
